Burnishing Compound

Great for both silver and gold. A high quality burnishing and lubricating compound. Use in the ratio of one heaping tablespoon to one gallon of water. Adjust if necessary. For bright, clean finishes, the burnishing compound must be used in the right proportion and any resulting sludge rinsed away before particles embed and dull the metal.

Ceramic Angle (Angle cut triangle)

A 3/8" x 5/8" size ceramic media containing no abrasives. When tumbling rocks, use ceramic angles as a pre-filler to occupy space inside the tumbler and as a carrier to deliver grain abrasives to the work pieces. Adds weight to the load for increased tumbling action and separates work pieces to eliminate parts sticking together.

Corn Cob

A pithy material made from the hard woody ring of the corn cob. It is used as a very gentle finish and drying media in polishing and burnishing metals. Absorbs many times its weight. Readily removes oil, dirt and grease from tumbled parts.

Garnet Sand

An excellent aid to grinding and polishing stones or glass in a vibrating or rolling tumbler.  It's small size helps aid in grinding and polishing those tough to get areas.  Use about 1/4" cup of garnet  per quart of rocks.  Use mixture from rough grind all the way to polish.

Ground Walnut Shell

Use in a tumbler with a pinch of powdered red rouge to put a brilliant polish on brass shell cartridges or a hand polished look on silver and gold jewelry.

Plastic Pellets

1/8" plastic pellets act as cushioning media when tumbling delicate materials, especially during the polishing cycle. Pellets float off for easy separation and reuse.

Plastic Pyramids

A 1/4" size plastic media used wet on all precious metals for cut down prior to burnishing with steel shot. Fast cutting and produces an excellent finish. The plastic pyramids are made with a 400 grit quartz abrasive embedded inside. The batch must be rinsed clean periodically to maintain clean media and metal surfaces.

Steel shot Jewelry Mixture

A superior mix of balls, pins, ball cones and cylinders. Just the right sizes for jewelry work. The mixture insures maximum coverage of a wide variety of work pieces. Shot is made from hard, low carbon steel with a mirror bright surface. Use 10 parts shot to 1 part work piece (by volume) using burnishing soap and water. CAUTION: The burnishing compound must be used in the right proportion and any resulting sludge rinsed away before particles embed and dull the metal. Five pounds approximate on pine in volume.

Cerium Oxide
    Our high quality, 85% purity, optically graded cerium, is excellent for polishing glass.  One of the best all-purpose polishes.  Also used to polish quartz, agate, opal, obsidian, etc

New Super Cerium Oxide
    Our highest quality cerium.  This optically graded cerium is white rather than the reddish color of most cerium’s.  It has a finer mesh and gives an incredible luster to all glass.  Works well on all hard stones from obsidian to agate.

Chrome Oxide Polish

Covington's Gold Label Polish #2
     
99% pure micro alumina polishing powder. Excellent for vibrating tumblers, lappers, and ultrasonic machines.  Works especially well with Leather or Felt.  Great for super fine polish on all hard and soft stones.  Approximate size .5 microns and a 9 on the MOHS scale.

Covington Tumbler Polish (White Alumina)
    98% pure levigated alumina polish powder. Excellent for tumbling,
pre-polishing, and plate lapping.

Linde 'A' Polish
   A .3 micron alumina powder that is 99.98% pure aluminum oxide polishing powder with a 9 mohs hardness.  A super polish for almost any gemstone.

Oxalic Acid
    A cleaning powder used to remove iron stains from gemstone slabs.  Comes in crystallized form and needs to be added to water.

Pumice, 1 (Coarse)
     Good for mild grinding of glass surfaces.  More abrasive than 0 - 1/2 pumice.  Used with cork belts, wheels, or discs.  Can be applied with wet rag or felt block.  Sand like in appearance. 
Pumice, 0 - 1/2D (medium) Dental Grade
     Great for light grinding.  More abrasive than 2F pumice.  Used with cork belts, wheels, or discs.  Can be applied with wet rag or felt block.  Fine sand like appearance.

Pumice, 2F (medium fine)
     Used to remove grease or stains from glass surfaces.  More abrasive than 4F pumice.  Excellent pre-polish on glass.  Used with cork belts, wheels, or discs.  Can be applied with wet rag or felt block.

Pumice, 4F (very fine)
      Used on cork belts, wheels, or discs for semi-polishing the edges or bevels on glass plate.  Less abrasive than 2F.  Excellent pre-polish on glass.

Red Rouge Powder
     Inexpensive polish powder used for tumbling.  Often used with walnut shell to polish brass.  A good final polish for glass and obsidian.  Also used with felt belt to polish glass and metals. 

Tin Oxide
     99.9% Ultra High purity tin oxide.  Over 85% particle size distribution 1 micron or less, and 58% is .37 micron.  Excellent polishing on almost any gemstone including hard to polish stones.

Tripoli Polish 
     A good pre-polish compound.  Cream color polishing is  compound.
